Water Marble Nail Art

Recently, I just fell in love with water marble nail art. It is difficult to learn but once you know the technique, you will just love it.

Below I have summarized the steps by steps how to do Water Marble Nail Art.

You need:-
(i)         Water in room temperature (preferably distilled water);
(ii)        One paper cup (preferably with wide opening);
(iii)      at least two bottles of nail polish (preferably white+any other color and for contrasting effect, choose to match white with dark color)The quality of the nail polish will determine whether the color will disperse well or not in the water. Good quality nail polish will disperse better in the water. But I don’t recommend OPI or Sally Hansen because it is expensive and you’ll be wasting lots of it before you’ll be good at it. Try some cheaper range of nail polish such as Elianto because it works quite well too. However I am not using this brand because I found another Japanese brand of nail polish that works really well but I could not tell you the brand because the brand is in JapaneseL

Step by step

1.         Clear your table. Put a cloth and tooth pick on your table.
2.         Fill in the distilled water into the cup until almost full.
3.         Color your nails in white (it can be any color but for beginning try white first) and apply cuticle oil on your cuticle.
4.         Open the nails polish (I choose white and turquoise). Check the texture of the liquid. If it is too thick then it will not disperse well. So change another bottle of nail color.
5.         Hold both the nail polishes on your left hand with the cap already opened.
6.         Take a deep breath as the whole process will have to be done as fast as possible. So you must not make mistake or else your nail polish will turn out to be like plastic in the water.
7.         Start dripping one drop of white then alternate with turquoise then white then turquoise then white then turquoise (it will form circles in circles).
8.         After you have about 6 circles, immediately put aside your nail polish.
9.         Use your tooth pick and start drawing grid on it (5X5). After you draw each line, clean your tooth pick with the cloth. You will start to see a pattern on it.
10.       Dip your finger in the water. Hold your finger under the water and use the tooth pick to clear up the residue polish in the water. Voila, you have done it.

Trust me, it is easy to say then do it. So keep trying. Don’t give up! I have tried more than 30 times myself and I have wasted few bottles of nail polishes before I finally achieved the pattern that I want.
